SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Extension of Sorrel Drive, Extension of
San Vista Drive and Extension of Sorrel Court located in Section Eight, Sonoma
Pointe
INITIATED BY: Engineering
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to the
Extension of Sorrel Drive, Extension of San Vista Drive and Extension of Sorrel
Court located in Section Eight, Sonoma Pointe.
Background: Extension of Sorrel Drive, Extension of San Vista Drive and
Extension of Sorrel Court located in Section Eight, Sonoma Pointe has
thirty-six (36) residential lots. The streets have been improved and have met
the specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Extension of Sorrel
Drive, Extension of San Vista Drive and Extension of Sorrel Court located in
Section Eight, Sonoma Pointe. A description of the property is as follows: All
those lots, tracts and parcels of land lying and being in Land Lots 31 & 34 of
the 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown as Extension of
Sorrel, Extension of San Vista Drive and Extension of Sorrel Court, as said
roads and right-of-ways are shown on the map or plat entitled "Section Eight,
Sonoma Pointe, Part of Land Lots 31 & 34, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee
County, Georgia", prepared by Hobbs Smith & Associates, Inc., dated March 12,
2012, said plat recorded in Plat Book 163, pages 175-177, in the Office of the
Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the resolution accepting a deed to Extension
of Sorrel Drive, Extension of San Vista Drive and Extension of Sorrel Court
located in Section Eight, Sonoma Pointe.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO
THE EXTENSION OF SORREL DRIVE, EXTENSION OF SAN VISTA DRIVE AND EXTENSION OF
SORREL COURT LOCATED IN SECTION EIGHT, SONOMA POINTE ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS,
GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying the Extension of
Sorrel Drive, extension of San Vista Drive and Extension of Sorrel Court
located in Section Eight, Sonoma Pointe, a full description of property on said
deed; and,
WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said streets and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated April 13, 2012, conveying to Columbus, Georgia
the Extension of Sorrel Drive, extension of San Vista Drive and Extension of
Sorrel Court located in Section Eight, Sonoma Pointe, be and the same is hereby
accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded
in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee
County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a
part of this resolution.
