SUBJECT: Temporary Access Easement for the East Wynnton Detention Pond

Recommendation: Approval is requested to execute a Temporary Access Easement

Agreement from 8th Street to the Detention Pond Lot Tract 1 for the Housing

Authority of Columbus Georgia (HACG) for ingress and egress to maintain the

Detention Pond.



Background: The HACG has requested a temporary access easement beginning at

8th Street running southerly approximately 1033.17 feet to the Detention Pond

Lot Tract 1 as shown on "Replat for Columbus Consolidated Government Boundary

Survey, Lying in land Lot 90, Coweta Reserve, Columbus, Muscogee County,

Georgia. A description of the property is as follows: Certain tract of

property shown on that certain map or plat of survey entitled " Replat for

Columbus Consolidated Government, Boundary Survey, Lying in Land Lot 90, Coweta

Reserve, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia", dated November 11, 2005, prepared

by Aaron M McCullough, Registered Land Surveyor No. 2990, Jordan Jones &

Goulding, and being recorded in Plat Book 156, Page 118, in the office of the

Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



The Detention Pond must be maintained by the developer for a period of two

years and then be inspected by the Engineering Department to determine if it

meets the required specifications to be accepted by the City. In order for

HACG to access and maintain the Detention Pond, they have requested a temporary

access easement through City property to the Detention Pond Lot. The Temporary

Access Easement shall run until January 1, 2009.



Analysis: The Engineering Department has investigated the request and site and

recommends approval.



Financial Considerations: No City funds will be expended.



Legal Considerations: This Agreement requires Council Approval.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the request for the temporary access easement
