AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE OFFICIAL STREET AND TAX MAPS OF THE

CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA BY DELETING A SEGMENT OF HAMILTON

ROAD AND TALBOTTON ROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY FROM THE OFFICIAL STREET MAP; WITH SAID

SEGMENTS OF RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED EAST OF THE EAST RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF HAMILTON

ROAD AND SOUTH OF TALBOTTON ROAD AS HIGHLIGHTED ON A COPY OF A SURVEY DRAWING

PREPARED BY MOON, MEEKS AND VINSON, INC. ENTITLED SOUTHEAST CORNER OF 19TH

STREET AND HAMILTON ROAD AND DATED FEBRUARY 13, 2001 ; SAID DRAWING

HIGHLIGHTING SAID RIGHT-0F-WAY BEING MADE PART OF THIS ORDINANCE BY REFERENCE;

PROVIDING THAT ALL EXISTING UTILITY EASEMENTS OF RECORD SHALL REMAIN IN EFFECT;

PROVIDING APPROPRIATE WIDTH EASEMENTS SHALL BE RESERVED AS REQUIRED BY THE

UTILITY COMPANIES SERVING ADJOINING STREETS AND PROPERTIES FOR UNKNOWN

UTILITIES AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF SAID RIGHT-OF-WAY IN ACCORDANCE WITH

COLUMBUS CITY CODES REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND FOR OTHER

PURPOSES.





THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION I.



That the ?Official Street Map, Consolidated Government of Columbus,

Georgia of Section 18.1 of the City Code? and appropriate Tax Maps are hereby

amended by deleting the following segments of Hamilton Road and Talbotton Road:



That triangular shaped remnant of street right-of-way east of Hamilton

Road and south of Talbotton Road having 0.786 acres being highlighted a copy of

a survey plat by Moons, Meeks, Mason and Vinson, Inc. entitled Southeast Corner

of 19th Street and Hamilton Road dated and made part of this ordinance by

reference.



SECTION II.



That the segments of right-of-way described here within Section I are

no longer needed for roadway purposes.



SECTION III.



Providing that all existing utility easements of record shall remain in

effect and providing appropriate width easements shall be reserved as required

by the utility companies serving adjoining streets and properties for unknown

utilities.



SECTION IV.



That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this

ordinance are hereby repealed.





Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

9th day of July, 2013; introduced a second time at a regular meeting of said

Council held on the _____ day of ________, 2013 and adopt at said meeting by

the affirmative vote of _____ member of Council.
