COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 21, 2006
TO THE CITY ATTORNEY:
MERITORIOUS RESOLUTION:
Have the staff to prepare a resolution congratulating AFLAC for being the
first national and international company to donate $1million to the African
American History Museum, as well as a resolution for the Chairman of that
committee, former Councilor Robert L. Wright, who was instrumental in securing
that $1million.
Also, prepare a resolution for the local Krispy Kreme store, Number 1156
for receiving the Hank Aaron Cleanliness Award and the Billy Aaron Customer
Service Award. (Request of Councilor Suber)

TO THE CITY MANAGER:
WALGREEN?S REZONING:
Have the staff to provide a complete report from Engineering, as to why
this drainage system that was put in for this particular rezoning project has
failed. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Rodgers)
Also, have the staff to get the City Attorney involved in this matter, and
for him to take a look at all of our options and let?s go back and review that
history. Let?s get all the information; then come back and let us know where we
are and where we need to go with this issue. (Request of Mayor Poydasheff)
Let?s make sure that we contact the developer to make them aware of this
situation. (Request of Councilor McDaniel)
Have the staff to also provide a report on the Engineer who told the
neighbors it wouldn?t work and why we weren?t told about this. (Request of
Councilor Turner Pugh)

CONTRACTORS WATER RUN-OFF:
Have the staff to talk to Mr. John Thayer so that they can come to some
resolution on how to deal with the issue of water run-off. He said if the State
is doing something, he doesn?t think that we can supersede the ordinance on
that; therefore, let?s get some clarification on that. (Request of Councilor
Suber)

TO THE CLERK OF COUNCIL:
BUILDING CONTRACTORS EXAMINING BOARD:
Have the staff to contact the Homebuilders Association to see if they have
any recommendations. (Request of Mayor Poydasheff)
Also, check and see if there are any licensed female building contractors
who might be interested in serving on this board. (Request of Councilor Turner
Pugh)

Have the staff to contact the Young Professionals organization or
Leadership Columbus to see if there is someone interested in serving on this
