Meeting Minutes

Call to order
Dr. Chhokar called the Columbus Board of Health to order at 1:00pm.

Approval of Minutes Dr. Chhokar asked if there were any questions or comments on the
previous minutes received (February 24, 2016). Dr. Chhokar asked for a motion to
approve the minutes. A motion was made by Ms. Cathright, seconded by Dr. Lopez
and approved by all members present. None
District Health Director?s Report
Dr. Chhokar called on Dr. Townsend to give the Director?s Report;
1. Attending the GPHA Conference last week; information from Board of Health
orientation was presented.

Excused Absences Dr. Chhokar stated there is one excused absence for the meeting, Dr.
Wise.
Dr. Chhokar asked for motion for the excused absences of Dr. Wise. A motion was
made by Dr. Lopez seconded by Mr. Hugley and approved by all members present. None
Financial Report Dr. Chhokar called on Gwen Cunningham to present the financial report
to the Board in Ms. Strickland?s absence. Ms. Cunningham presented the
following;
1. Written copy of the financial report and overview for FY16 budget is
$5,677,814 with two revisions.
2. Expenses were $3,498,118 which is $359,581 more that the same time last
year, which is below target for 8 months of operation.
3. Fees collected are $873,753 which is down from same time last year by
$13,529.
4. All other programs on target for 8 months of operation.

Old Business
Dr. Chhokar asked if there were any Old Business;
1) Dr. Lopez asked about the update on the dentistry memo.
Board discussed logistics of disseminating to local dentists. Voted to table
until next month.
Carol Popwell to forward board members with memo and lists provided by Dr.
Lopez.
New Business Dr. Chhokar called on Karon Bush;
1. Ms. Bush presented a handout and information on highlights to the Guide for
Serving on the County Board of Health.

Program Reports Dr. Chhokar asked if there were any Program reports;
Pam Kirkland, PIO reported;
1. Media interviews & PSA ? various topics
2. Working with local high school to prepare video for teens
Kristi Ludy, Environmental Health County Manager reported;
1. Provided Environmental Health numbers from February 16 to March 15 which
included a number of permitted establishments and routine inspections
2. Rabies Clinic at Civic Center, April 28th 5 ? 7pm
