No old business.
New Business
A $3,000.00 supplement from the City of Columbus was given to all prison guards
from the last Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST); however the
guards at Bull Creek and Oxbow Creek we left out. Mr. Milam will ask the City
Manager and/or the Mayor to include our prison guards (Lawrence Adams, Chris
Beaman and Paul Lowery) in the supplement. A motion was made by Rudy Allen and
seconded by Floyd Washington to make this payment available to our guards.
Bull Creek will hold a First Tee, Friends of Godwin Creek, Tournament, on
Monday, October 19th, 2009. Bull Creek will donate the course for their
fund-raiser. The charge is $40 per person for cart and green fee. There will
be no prizes; however, every golfer will receive one free round with cart to be
redeemed any weekday. The majority of the money raised will go back to Bull
Creek for the fertilizer and other chemicals loaned to Godwin Creek.
Superintendent Report by Steve Brown by John Milam
The greens have been lightly dusted with sand and the greens mower blades have
been raised to prepare us for the cooler weather. The tees will be over-seeded
during the first two weeks of October. The bunkers will be edged and drainage
problems will be addressed as the cutting season slows down.
Steve will be working one day a week to oversee the course management at Oxbow
Creek. Things have been a little lax lately.
Godwin Creek
A meeting is scheduled next week with the YMCA to discuss the future of the
First Tee Program. Nan Hopkins will continue to oversee the day-to-day
operations. Columbus Bank & Trust has extended the loan for 60 days. At the
end of that time, the loan will be renewed or the equipment sold to pay off the
loan.
Director of Golf

Bull Creek is through the 18th of September, is approximately $5,000 higher
compared to the same time last year. It was noted that this time of the year
is our ?slow? season.
