NO.
WHEREAS, Edwin Jackson of the Arizona Diamondbacks pitched a complete game
no-hitter on June 25, 2010;
WHEREAS, Jackson is a native of Columbus, Georgia and a 2001 graduate
of Shaw High School, where he led the Raiders to the 2001 GHSA Class AAAA State
Championship;
WHEREAS, Jackson was drafted in the 6th Round of the 2001 Major League
Baseball amateur draft, and has become an All-Star starting pitcher;
WHEREAS, Jackson threw a major league high 149 pitches to record his
no-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Edwin Jackson are worthy of special
recognition by this Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Arizona Diamondback Edwin Jackson on
pitching a no-hitter against the Tampa Bay Rays on June 25, 2010. Columbus is
proud of Jackson and his accomplishments and we wish him success for his
future. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Edwin Jackson.

held on the 13th day of July, 2010, and adopted at said meeting by the
