Board Meeting Minutes
September 8, 2010

A meeting of the Land Bank Authority Board was held on September 8, 2010, in
the Ground Floor Conference Room of the Columbus Consolidated Government Center.

The meeting was called to order by Board Member Justin Krieg. A Quorum was
present. Minutes of the August 11, 2010 Meeting were approved as presented.
Deputy City Manager David Arrington made opening remarks about the status of
the Board and funding available for it operations. Mr. Arrington introduced
Pam Hodge, Director of Finance for the City. Ms. Hodge discussed with the
Board the availability of funds provided by Council. The amount of funding
currently available is $50,000 and is being provided to fund the initial start
up activities of the Authority. The Authority will need to organize with its
own structure, possibly with the assistance of a local non-profit organization,
to carry out its responsibilities.
The Board discussed other aspects of its responsibilities and duties. The
purchase/use of property will need to be for a public benefit. The Board
discussed the need to have liability insurance for its members. The Board
discussed the need to have someone with experience setting up a Land Bank
Authority to meet with the Board and provide some direction. Board Member
Justin Krieg made a motion to invite Frank Alexander to come to Columbus and
meet with the Board on organizational issues. Board Member Thomas Gristina
seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Old/New Business:
The Board elected a Chair and Vice Chair. Board Member Justin Krieg was
elected Chair. Board Member Carson Cummings was elected Vice Chair.
The Board discussed the need to hold monthly meetings at the present time. The
next Board Meeting will be held Wednesday, October 6, 2010, in the Ground Floor
Conference Room at the Government Center at 10:00 a.m. A meeting notice will
be sent via email to all Board Members.
