AN ORDINANCE REGULATING VEHICULAR TRAFFIC IN COLUMBUS, GEORGIA BY ESTABLISHING

NO PARKING ANYTIME ZONES ALONG THE NORTH AND SOUTH CURBS OF MIDTOWN DRIVE AND

ALONG THE EAST AND WEST CURBS OF CITIZENS WAY; ESTABLISHING FOUR-HOUR PARKING

ZONES ALONG THE SOUTH CURB OF MIDTOWN DRIVE; ESTABLISHING RESTRICTED PARKING

ZONES FOR THE HANDICAPPED, PUBLIC SAFETY AGENCIES, AND COURIERS ALONG THE WEST

CURB OF CITIZENS WAY; AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF OFFICIAL TRAFFIC CONTROL

SIGNS INDICATING THESE PARKING RESTRICTIONS; REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING

ORDINANCES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION I.



A. MIDTOWN DRIVE



A ?No Parking Anytime? zone shall be established along the north curb of

Midtown Drive beginning at the east curb of Rigdon Road and running easterly to

the west curb of Boxwood Boulevard.



A ?No Parking Anytime? zone shall be established along the south curb

of Midtown Drive beginning at the east curb of Rigdon Road and running easterly

for a distance of 340 feet, then along the south curb beginning at a point 728

feet from the east curb of Rigdon Road and running easterly for a distance of

382 feet, then along the south curb beginning at a point 1,333 feet from the

east curb of Rigdon Road and running easterly to the west curb of Boxwood

Boulevard.



A ?Four Hour Parking? zone shall be established along the south curb of

Midtown Drive beginning 340 feet from the east curb of Rigdon Road and running

easterly for a distance of 388 feet, then along the south curb beginning at a

point 1,110 feet from the east curb of Rigdon Road and running easterly for a

distance of 223 feet.



B. CITIZENS WAY



A ?No Parking Anytime? zone shall be established along the east side of

Citizens Way beginning at the south curb of Macon Road and running southerly to

the north curb of the Midtown Drive roundabout.



A ?No Parking Anytime? zone shall be established along the west side of

Citizens Way beginning at the south curb of Macon Road and running southerly

for a distance of 410 feet, then along the west curb beginning at a point 465

feet from the south curb of Macon Road and running southerly for a distance of

9 feet, then along the west curb beginning at a point 654 feet from the south

curb of Macon Road and running southerly to the north curb of the Midtown Drive

roundabout.



A ?Reserved Parking for Public Safety? zone shall be established along

the west side of Citizens Way beginning 410 feet from the south curb of Macon

Road and running southerly for a distance of 55 feet.



A ?Handicap Parking? zone with a four (4) hour time limit shall be

established along the west side of Citizens Way beginning 474 feet from the

south curb of Macon Road and running southerly for a distance of 107 feet.



A ?15 Minute Parking? zone for loading and unloading shall be

established along the west side of Citizens Way beginning 581 feet from the

south curb line of Macon Road and running southerly for a distance of 73 feet.





SECTION II.



The Columbus Consolidated Government and the Muscogee County School District

are hereby authorized to designate Reserved Parking Spaces within their

respective properties for surface parking lots and parking garages within the

boundaries of Macon Road, Boxwood Boulevard, Midtown Drive and Rigdon Road.

Anyone violating said Reserved Parking Spaces shall be subject to citations in

accordance with the parking regulations of the Columbus Consolidated Government.



SECTION III.



The official traffic control signs shall be installed indicating the

?No Parking Anytime? and ?Restricted Parking? zones described here within

Section I.



SECTION IV.



All ordinances and parts of any ordinance in conflict with this

ordinance are hereby repealed.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held on

the 24th day of September 2013; introduced a second time at a regular meeting

of said Council held on the day of _________ 2013, and adopted

at said meeting by the affirmative vote of members of Council.
