(A) DOUBLE CHURCHES TENNIS COURT LIGHTING (RE-BID) ? RFB NO. 14-00037
It is requested that Council authorize the execution of a construction contract
with Southeast Electrical Contractors, Inc. (Phenix City, AL) in the amount of
$57,921.00 for the Double Churches Tennis Court Lighting project. The scope of
work includes sports lighting at the tennis courts and batting cages at Double
Churches Park.
Bid postcard invitations were mailed to fifty vendors and bid specifications
were posted on the web pages of the Purchasing Division, Georgia Procurement
Registry, and DemandStar. Three bids were received on May 28, 2014. This bid
has been advertised, opened and reviewed. The bidders were:

B) TREE MAINTENANCE SERVICES (ANNUAL CONTRACT) ? RFB NO. 14-0036
It is requested that Council approve the annual contract for Tree Maintenance
Services from Asplundh Tree Expert, Inc., (Willow Grove, PA) for an estimated
annual contract value of $25,000.00. The estimated annual contract amount is
based on the previous contract usage. The primary reason for having a tree
maintenance contract is to insure that in case of an emergency, a vendor will
already be under contract, if storm damages exceed the handling capabilities of
Public Works.
The Contractor will furnish all necessary supervision, labor, equipment, tools,
transportation and other resources for pruning, trimming, dead wooding and
removal of City owned trees in compliance with Tree Care Industry Associations
(TCIA) Standards and ANSI A300 Standards. All work performed by the Contractor
will be subject to inspection by the Public Works City Arborist or his/her
designated representative.
The term of contract shall be for three years.
Bid specifications were posted on the City?s website, Georgia Procurement
Registry and DemandStar. One bid was received on May 28, 2014. The bid has
