SUBJECT: Right of First Refusal ? 1600 Blanchard Blvd.
INITIATED BY: Community Reinvestment Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested to authorize the City Manager to execute
a Termination of Right to Repurchase for 1600 Blanchard Blvd (parcel #023 010
002A) in Columbus, Georgia. (see attached map).
Background: Faith Worship Center International, Inc. currently owns the
property and is in the process of trying to sell it. After conducting a title
examination it was discovered that the City has the right of first refusal to
purchase the property. This property has no public use and is of no value to
the City. There is no interest in pursuing the repurchase of this property.
Analysis: This property has no public use and no value to the City.
Financial Considerations: There is no financial obligation for the City.
Legal Considerations: All real estate transactions must be approved by City
Council.
Recommendations/Actions: Approve the Resolution authorizing the City Manager
to execute a Termination of Right to Repurchase for 1600 Blanchard Blvd (parcel
#023 010 002A) in Columbus, Georgia.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A TERMINATION OF RIGHT TO REPURCHASE
FOR 1600 BLANCHARD BLVD (PARCEL # 023 010 002A) IN COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia Consolidated Government (?the City?) has the
right of first refusal for the property located at 1600 Blanchard Blvd (Parcel
#023 010 002A); and,
WHEREAS, the owner is trying to sell said property; and,
WHEREAS, this Council hereby finds that this property is of no value to the
City and has no public use.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a Termination of Right to
Repurchase for 1600 Blanchard Blvd (parcel #023 010 002A) in Columbus, Georgia.
A copy of the Termination of Right to Repurchase is also hereto attached and by
reference make a part of this Resolution.
