SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Sorrel Court,

that portion of San Vista Drive and that portion of Silverado Drive

located in Addition to Section Six Sonoma Pointe



INITIATED BY: Engineering







Recommendation: Approval is requested of a deed to portion of Sorrel Court,

that portion of San Vista Drive and that portion of Silverado Drive located in

Addition to Section Six Sonoma Pointe.



Background: That portion of Sorrel Court, that portion of San Vista Drive and

that portion of Silverado Drive located in Addition to Section Six Sonoma

Pointe has (39) thirty-nine residential lots. The streets have been improved

and meet the required specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Sorrel Court, that portion of San Vista Drive and that portion of Silverado

Drive located in Addition to Section Six Sonoma Pointe. A description of

property is as follows: All those tracts and parcels of land being in Land

Lots 31 & 34 of the 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown

as San Vista Drive, Extension of Sorrel Court and Extension of Silverado Drive,

as said roads and right-of-way are shown on the map or plat entitled "Addition

to Section Six, Sonoma Pointe, Lying in Land Lots 31 & 34, 9th District,

Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia", prepared by Hobbs Smith & Associates,

Inc., dated August 16, 2010, said plat recorded in Plat Book 162, page 287, in

the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty period.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to that

portion of Sorrel Court, that portion of San Vista Drive and that portion of

Silverado Drive located in Addition to Section Six Sonoma Pointe.

















A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF SORREL

COURT, THAT PORTION OF SAN VISTA DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF SILVERADO DRIVE

LOCATED IN ADDITION TO SECTION SIX, SONOMA POINTE ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS,

GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Sorrel Court, that portion of San Vista Drive and that portion of Silverado

Drive located in addition to Section Six, Sonoma Pointe, a full description of

property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated October 1, 2010, conveying Columbus, Georgia

that portion of Sorrel Court, that portion of San Vista Drive and that portion

of Silverado Drive located in addition to Section Six, Sonoma Pointe be and the

same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said

deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of the deed is hereto attached and by this

reference made a part of this resolution.
