(1) 1st Reading - Public Hearing - FY08 Final Budget Amendment:
An ordinance amending the budgets for the Fiscal Year 2008 beginning July 1,
2007 and ending June 30, 2008, for certain funds of the Consolidated
Government of Columbus, Georgia, appropriating amounts shown in each fund for
personnel actions and various other activities. (Budget Review Committee
Meeting.)

(2) 2nd Reading - Property located at 2361 South Lumpkin Road is proposed for
rezoning from SFR3 (Single Family Residential 3) zoning district to NC
(Neighborhood Commercial) zoning district. (39-A-08-Bradford) (Councilor
McDaniel) The proposed use is a food store and restaurant. The Planning
Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommend approval.
(3) 2nd Reading - Property located at 3844 Aldridge Road is proposed for
rezoning from GC (General Commercial) zoning district to LMI (Light
Manufacturing/Industrial) zoning district. (37-CA-08-Meacham) (Councilor
Davis) The proposed use is commercial services. The Planning Advisory
Commission and the Planning Department recommend conditional approval.
(4) 2nd Reading ? Text amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance to add
pole banners as a type of sign to amend several typographical errors regarding
Chapters 5 and 13 of the Unified Development Ordinance. (41-A-08-Planning
Department) (Councilor McDaniel) The Planning Advisory Commission and the
Planning Department recommended approval.

(5) GLOBAL CONNECT - EMERGENCY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM:
Authorization is requested to enter into an agreement with Global Connect for
an Emergency Notification System on a nine (9) month trial period with no
obligation. An agenda report and resolution are attached.
(6) GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES GRANT - COOPER CREEK HANDICAP
TRAILS:
Approval is requested to submit an application and if approved accept $100,000
in grant funds from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to provide
handicap accessible trail improvements to Cooper Creek Park. An agenda report
and resolution are attached.
(7) UNUSED SICK LEAVE PAYMENT:
Approval is requested to authorize payment to employees for unused sick leave
in accordance with 16B-15-6(2) of the Columbus Code of Ordinances. An agenda
report and resolution are attached.
(8) DRAINAGE EASEMENT - FORT BENNING:
Approval is requested to grant a drainage easement to Fort Benning on property
located across South Lumpkin Road through the property known formerly as
Orchard Grove Mobile Home Park and consisting of a 40 ft. strip. An agenda
report, resolution and map are attached.

meet the specified warranty requirements, the Contractor must be trained and

Zoning (VRFZ) system specified (Section 15051) for this project.

Scope of RFP
Columbus Consolidated Government is evaluating the option of selecting a
benefits management firms to strategically plan, broker, implement, and support
our employee benefits programs. Contract term shall be for two years with the
option to renew for three additional twelve-month periods. The option to renew
will be contingent upon the mutual agreement of the City and the Contractor.
