O R D I N A N C E S:
(1) 2nd Reading - (REZN-3-10-3767)- Property located at 1150, 1126, 942, 934,
926, 904, 850, 800, 640, 865, 705 and 685 Morris Road is proposed for rezoning
from LMI (Light Manufacturing Industrial) zoning district to SFR4 (Single
Family Residential 4)/ NC (Neighborhood Commercial) zoning district.
(12-A-10-Douglass) (Councilor McDaniel) The proposed use is for single family
homes and neighborhood commercial uses. The Planning Advisory Commission and
the Planning Department recommend approval. (Approved)
(2) 2nd Reading ? Property Located at 925 Morris Road is proposed for
rezoning from LMI (Light Manufacturing Industrial) zoning district to RMF1
(Residential Multi Family 1). (3-CA-10-Martin) (Councilor McDaniel) The
proposed use is for Single Family Residential. The Planning Advisory Commission
and the Planning Department recommend conditional approval. (Delayed two weeks
from March 9, 2010) (Approved)
(3) 2nd Reading ? An Ordinance providing for the establishment of taxing
districts, including a county-wide general services district and three (3)
urban services districts and three (3) Business Improvement districts (BID);
providing for the levy, assessment, and collection of taxes for Columbus,
Georgia within such districts for the calendar year 2010 as provided under the
Charter of the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia; providing
penalties for violations of the provisions of said ordinance; and for other
purposes. (Budget Review Committee) (Approved)
(4) 2nd Reading - An Ordinance providing for the levy, assessment, and
collection of taxes for the public school system of Columbus, Georgia; and for
other purposes. (Budget Review Committee) (Delayed)
(5) 2nd Reading - An Ordinance amending vehicular traffic in Columbus, Georgia
by increasing fines for parking violations and repealing conflicting
Ordinances; and for other purposes. (Councilor Woodson) (Approved)
(6) 2nd Reading - An Ordinance providing for contributions to the
Columbus, Georgia General Government Employees? Pension Plan for the fiscal
year beginning July 1, 2010. (Budget Review Committee) (Approved)
(7) 2nd Reading - An Ordinance providing for the supplemental contributions to
the Columbus, Georgia Pension Plan for employees of the Department of Public
Safety for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2010. (Budget Review Committee)

(8) 2nd Reading - An Ordinance providing for Government funding of a Death
Benefit Escrow for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2010. (Budget Review

(10) 2nd Reading - An Ordinance amending Article VII of Chapter 13 of the
Columbus Code Solid Waste Collection and Disposal by changing the guidelines
for an offset to the residential rate for low-income households. (Budget

(11) 1st Reading - Property located at 1242 6th Avenue is proposed for rezoning
from LMI (Light Manufacturing/Industrial) zoning district to UPT (Uptown)
zoning district. (17-A-10-Mize) (Council McDaniel) The proposed use is for
office, business and professional. The Planning Advisory Commission and the
Planning Department recommend approval. (Approved)
(12) 1st Reading - 1st Reading - Property located at 1410, 1426, 1506, 1507,
1509, 1511, 1513, 1515, 1519 & 1523 6th Avenue; 520 Linwood Boulevard; 5011 4th
Street; and 1428 5th Avenue is proposed for rezoning from LMI (Light
Manufacturing/Industrial) zoning district to UPT (Uptown) zoning district.
(18-CA-10-Smallman) (Council McDaniel) The proposed use is for a residential
and business office. The Planning Advisory Commission recommends approval and
the Planning Department recommends conditional approval.
(13) 1st Reading (REZN-04-10-3949) ? Text amendments to the Unified Development
Ordinance to clarify language as it relates to billboards and multiple message
signs. (14-A-10-Planning Department) (Councilor McDaniel) The Planning Advisory
Commission recommends approval with one amendment and the Planning Department
recommends approval as submitted. (Delayed for no longer than December 1, 2010)
(14) 1st Reading (REZN-04-10-4065) ? Text amendments to the Unified Development
Ordinance to amend typos and minor errors in various chapters.
(15-A-10-Planning Department) (Councilor McDaniel) The Planning Advisory
Commission and the Planning Department recommend approval.
(15) 1st Reading (REZN-05-10-4177) ? Text amendments to the Unified Development
Ordinance, per a Georgia State Mandate, to amend the text of the Unified
Development Ordinance (UDO) to adhere to language established by the State of
Georgia as defined in the State Model Ordinance regarding erosion and
sedimentation control. (16-A-10-Planning Department) (Councilor McDaniel) The
Planning Advisory commission and the Planning Department recommend approval.
