SUBJECT: Contract for 14th Street Plaza
INITIATED BY: Planning Department
Recommendation: Approve the resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter
into an agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for
funding the construction of the 14th Street Plaza.
Background: With the construction of the Martin Pedestrian Bridge in 2013,

addition of the plaza will enhance the area and become the gateway to the
Martin Bridge and Riverwalk. The construction contract for this project was
approved by Council on March 10, 2015.
Financial Considerations: Under this contract, GDOT will provide 80 percent
of the construction cost ($1,066,734.85). The local match of 20 percent or
$266,683.71, for a total of $1,333,418.56. Funds are budgeted in the FY15
Budget: Paving Fund Supported Capital Projects ? General Construction ? 14th
Street Pedestrian Plaza; 0508-660-3000-CPPF-7661-21056-20110.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: Upon completion, this project will be
maintained as part of the overall street program.

provisions of this proposed contract.
