MINUTES # 22-09





The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Monday, June 15, 2009 at

9:00AM with Chairman William Braxton, Assessor Lawton Grantham, Assessor

Richard Stallings, Assessor Ann Grantham and Assessor Pat Hunter present. Also

present was Chief Appraiser Betty J. Middleton.



Assessor Richard Stallings made the motion to approve Min#19-09; Assessor Pat

Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.



Assessor Ann Grantham made the motion to approve Min#21-09; Assessor Richard

Stallings seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.



Chief Appraiser Betty Middleton presented a letter received from Tom Leanza,

Chief Appraiser, Marion County stating the homestead application for Sandra

Arwood has been withdrawn. Assessor Pat Hunter made a motion to reinstate the

homestead exemption for Parcel ID 024 034 014; Assessor Lawton Grantham

seconded the motion; motion carried.



Met with Residential Division Manager Bob O?Brien, reviewed and approved the

methodology for the following:

Met with Commercial Division Manager Linda King, reviewed and approved the

following:



Permits/Field Reviews: 89

2009 Map Split: 1

Condo Reval: 1



Met with Personal Property Division Manager Oliver Juhan, reviewed and approved

the following:

The Board reviewed and approved values for 2642 personal property accounts for

2009. Discussed meeting with Mrs. Rodgers concerning delinquent taxes on

equipment which had been located at 444 Brennan Rd



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to excuse Chairman William Braxton and

Assessor Lawton Grantham on May 18, 2009; Assessor Pat Hunter seconded the

motion. Motion carried.



Assessor Ann Grantham made a motion to excuse Assessor Richard Stallings on

June 1, 2009; Assessor Pat Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried.





Discussed with the Board a conversation with our Attorney relating to Parcel ID

168 004 003 regarding the value before court proceedings. The Board agreed to a

value of $1,900,000.
