SUBJECT: Street Acceptance- Portion of Highlands Drive Located in Highland
Phase Nine Garrett Creek Subdivision

Recommendation: Approval is requested to accept that portion of Highlands Drive
located in Highland Phase Nine Garrett Creek Subdivision
Background: That portion of Highlands Drive located in Highland Phase Nine
Garrett Creek Subdivision has ten (10) residential lots. The street has been
improved and meets the required specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of
Highlands Drive located in Highland Phase Nine Garrett Creek Subdivision. A
description of the property is as follows: That certain tract or parcel of
land designated as, and which is an extension of Highlands Drive as shown on
that certain map or plat of survey entitled "Highland Phase Nine, Garrett Creek
Subdivision, Lying in Land Lot 160, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County,
Georgia" as prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc. last dated March 18, 2017,
and recorded in Plat Book 165, Page 143, in the Office of the Clerk of the
Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City Funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City Funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all
dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendation/Actions: Approval is requested to accept that portion of
Highlands Drive located in Highland Phase Nine Garrett Creek Subdivision.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO APPROVE AND ACCEPT A DEED TO THAT
PORTION OF HIGHLANDS DRIVE LOCATED IN HIGHLAND PHASE NINE, GARRETT CREEK ON
BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that
portion of Highlands Drive located in Highland Phase Nine, Garrett Creek, a
full description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said street and
recommends acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated June 13, 2017 conveying to Columbus, Georgia
that portion of Highlands Drive located in Highland Phase Nine, Garrett Creek
be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized
to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of
Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached
and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
