Agenda Item # 1
Columbus Consolidated Government
Council Meeting
01/08/2013
Agenda Report # 001
TO: Mayor and Council
SUBJECT: Valet Parking for Columbus Civic Center
INITIATED BY: Ross Horner, Director of the Civic Center
Recommendation: Approval is requested to execute an agreement with Quality
Parking and Valet Management to provide valet parking at select events held at
the Civic Center.
Background: The Columbus Civic Center is requesting to use valet parking as
another revenue stream, as well as increase a level of service for patrons at
events. Quality Parking and Valet Management currently provides the same
service at the Trade Center and River Center - the agreement is similar and
allows Civic Center management to deem which events this service will be
utilized. The cost to valet park would be $10 and the Civic Center would
receive $2 from each transaction.
Financial Considerations: There are no costs associated with this agreement
for the City and/or Civic Center.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No city funds will be expended for
this service and the Columbus Civic Center will receive $2 in revenue from each
transaction. This agreement will be evaluated to determine future renewals.
Legal Considerations: City Attorney has reviewed the agreement and all changes
have been incorporated.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approval is requested for the City Manager to
execute an agreement with Quality Parking and Valet Management to provide valet
parking at select events had at the Civic Center.
