SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Fortson Business Park Boulevard replat of

Lot 300 replat of Part of Land Lots 271 & 293, 19th District

Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed of Fortson

Business Park Boulevard replat of Lot 300 replat of Part of Land Lots 271 &

293, 19th District.



Background: Fortson Business Park Boulevard replat of Lot 300 replat of Part

of Land Lots 271 & 293, 19th District has six commercial lots. The street has

been improved and meets the required specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Fortson Business

Park Boulevard replat of Lot 300 replat of Part of Land Lots 271 & 293, 19th

District. A description of the property is as follows: All that tract and

parcel of land situate, lying and being in the State of Georgia, County of

Muscogee and City of Columbus, and being known and designated on that certain

map or plat entitled "Replat of Lot 300, Replat of Part of Land Lots 271 & 293,

19th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia", dated May 8, 2007, made by

Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc., and recorded in Plat Book 160, Page 44, in

the office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, to which

reference is made for more specific dimensions, as the following herein

described street, to wit: Fortson Business Park Boulevard, extending northerly

from the northern line of Williams Road to its present terminus as shown on

said map.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty expires.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-ways must be dedicated by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Fortson

Business Park Boulevard replat of Lot 300 replat of Part of Land Lots 271 &

293, 19th District.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO FORTSON BUSINESS PARK

BOULEVARD REPLAT OF LOT 300 REPLAT OF LAND LOTS 271 & 293, 19TH DISTRICT ON

BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Fortson Business

Park Boulevard replat of Lot 300 Replat of Land Lots 271 & 293, 19th District,

a full description of said property shown on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said street and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated February 19, 2010, conveying to Columbus,

Georgia Fortson Business Park Boulevard replat of Lot 300 Replat of Land Lots

271 & 293, 19th District and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council

is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the

Office of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of the deed is

hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
