MINUTES # 26-10
The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Monday, July 12, 2010 at
9:00AM with Chairman William Braxton, Assessor Lawton Grantham, Assessor Ann
Grantham, Assessor Pat Hunter and Assessor Derrick Shields present. Also
present was Chief Appraiser Betty J. Middleton.
Assessor Lawton Grantham made the motion to approve Min#25-10. Assessor Pat
Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
The Board signed assessment corrections for real estate.
Mr. Dickey had an appointment with the Board of Tax Assessors regarding PID 084
041 118 but did not appear.
Ms. Bojorquez had an appointment with the Board of Tax Assessors regarding PID
082 062 048 but did not appear.
Met with Residential Division Manager Bob O?Brien, reviewed and approved the
following:
Map Split: 1
Value Corrections: 7
Met with Commercial Division Manager Linda King, reviewed and approved the
following:
Map Splits: 10
Transfers/Reval: 3
Unf. Permits: 11
Permits: 3
Met with Personal Property Division Chief Oliver Juhan, reviewed and approved
the following:
Appeals: 9(-)

1(NC)
The Board of Tax Assessors approved conservation use values for 2010 for PID
133 001 012.

Assessor Lawton Grantham made a motion to cancel the meeting on July 19, 2010
due to lack of quorum; Assessor Derrick Shields seconded the motion, motion
carried.
Assessor Lawton Grantham made a motion to excuse Assessor Pat Hunter until is
she is able to return due to surgery; Assessor Derrick Shields seconded the
motion; motion carried.
The Board discussed a request from Mr. Tracy Sayers concerning tax refund on
bonded properties. The Board requested that City Attorney Clifton Fay and Mr.
Sprouse, Attorney for the Development Authority, should be present when the
meeting is set.
