SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Cottage Pointe Court located in Summer
Grove
INITIATED BY: Engineering
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to
Cottage Pointe Court located in Summer Grove.
Background: Cottage Pointe Court located in Summer Grove has (28)
residential lots. The street has been improved and meets the required
specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Cottage Pointe Court
located in Summer Grove. A description of property is as follows: All that lot,
tract or parcel of land situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County,
Georgia, designated as "Cottage Pointe Court", being a 50 foot right of way, as
shown upon a map or plat entitled "Summer Grove, Lying in Land Lots 62 & 79,
8th District, Columbus, Muscogee County Georgia", prepared by Moon, Meeks,
Mason & Vinson, Inc., dated July 26, 2011, and recorded in Plat Book 163, Page
110, in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty period.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty period.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all
dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Cottage
Pointe Court located in Summer Grove.
A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO COTTAGE POINTE COURT
LOCATED IN SUMMER GROVE ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Cottage Pointe
Court located in Summer Grove, a full description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated September 16, 2011, conveying Columbus, Georgia
Cottage Pointe Court located in Summer Grove is and the same is hereby
accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded
in the Deed Records in the Office of the Superior Court of Muscogee County,
Georgia. A copy of the deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a
part of this resolution.
