TO THE MAYOR:
CRIME PREVENTION PROGRAM:
Have the staff to provide a report on the GREAT, DARE, and Junior Marshal
Program, and advise where do they fit into the formula of the Crime Prevention
Program. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Turner
Pugh)
Have the staff to look at coming up with a mission and objective for the City
of Columbus in which the Crime Prevention Director goes out and find
partnerships with other organizations. Also, let?s look at bringing back an
additional set of criteria for funding of non-governmental entities; as well as
those smaller organizations and entities. Also provide a report as to exactly
what are the criteria of the Board with respect to funding, if you have added
to it, what has been added. (Request of Mayor Tomlinson)
Response:
Staff is working on this referral and will provide an update within the next
six weeks.

TO THE CITY MANAGER:
2. 10-YEAR PLAN TO END HOMELESSNESS:
Have the Mayor, City Attorney and City Manager to get together to discuss the
request from the committee working on the 10-Year Plan to end homelessness for
additional funding and bring back to the Council a resolution or Memorandum of
Understanding that we can look at regarding this request. (Request of
Councilor Thomas)
Have the staff to bring back as an alternative, to commit to the money for
the next two years and if enough members of the Council thinks that this is a
top priority then it represents a commitment to identifying that money
somewhere if CDBG is cut; and if we can?t take it all from there; then we will
have to look at the general fund. (Request of Councilor Henderson)

3. COURT REPORTERS PAY:
Have the staff to meet with the City Attorney, Judges and Court Reporters to
come up with an agreement on the Court Reporters pay. (Request of Mayor
Tomlinson)
Response:
Staff is working on this item and a response will be provided Tuesday, November
8, 2011.

4. COMPLETION OF ROAD WORK OF I-185:
In the completion of the road work of I-185, there have been complaints
received from the residents of the Cusseta Road side underneath as far as
resurfacing because of the heavy trucks that came through have destroyed that
portion of the road from the Fort Benning side coming from I-185 down to near
the American Legion on Cusseta Road. (Request of Councilor Huff)
Response:
Staff is checking this referral and will provide a status by November 8, 2011.
