AN ORDINANCE REVISING CITY CODE SECTION 18-1. STREET MAP - ADOPTION;
EFFECT AND CITY CODE SECTION 18-2. SAME - WHERE DISPLAYED; SIGNING. BY
DELETING BOTH CITY CODE SECTIONS IN THEIR ENTIRETY AND REPLACING IN LIEU A NEW
CITY CODE SECTION 18-1. STREET MAP - ADOPTION; EFFECT AND NEW CITY CODE
SECTION 18-2. OFFICIAL STREET MAP - WHERE DISPLAYED; REPEALING ANY CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
SECTION I.
That City Code Section 18-1 - Adoption; Effect is hereby deleted in its
entirety and replaced with a new City Code Section that reads as follows:
Section 18-1. Street Map - Adoption; effect.
That certain map in the office of the Department of Engineering,
entitled in the right-hand lower corner thereof ?Official Street Map,
Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia,? is hereby adopted as the
official street map for Columbus ? Muscogee County, Georgia; the various
streets, avenues, roads, drives and alleys named and shown on said map shall be
officially known by said names and shall constitute the public streets,
avenues, roads, drives and alleys of the Consolidated Government of Columbus,
Georgia.
The ?Official Street Map, Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia?
shall be periodically amended by the Department of Engineering to include the
addition of new streets accepted and/or the deletion of existing streets as
approved by Columbus Council actions.
SECTION II.
That City Code Section 18-2. Same - Where Displayed; signing. is
hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced with a new City Code Section that
reads as follows:
Section 18-2. Official Street Map ? Where displayed.
A copy of the Official Street Map of the Consolidated Government of
Columbus, Georgia shall be kept and displayed in the office of the Department
of Engineering.
SECTION III.
That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this
ordinance are hereby deleted.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on
the ____ day of _____, 2009; introduced a second time at a regular meeting of
said Council held on the ____ day of ____, 2009 and adopted at said meeting by
the affirmative vote of _____ members of Council.
