Inverse Condemnation Rears Its Ugly Head
Sen. Chip Pearson's (R-Dawsonville) proposed inverse condemnation
Constitutional Amendment, SR 1040, passed the Senate Judiciary Committee on
Friday, March 3. If passed by voters in a statewide referendum, it would
authorize the General Assembly to provide methods to compensate property owners
for "unreasonably burdensome governmental actions." GMA strongly opposes this
