AN ORDINANCE

An ordinance amending the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) for Columbus,
Georgia so as to amend certain sections of the Unified Development Ordinance of
the Columbus Codes so as to add the definition of Recreational Establishment
and change or alter the Permitted use table to allow for Recreational
Establishments within the Zoning districts of GC (General Commercial), LMI
(Light Manufacturing and Industrial) and MROD (Mill Restoration Overlay
District).

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.
Chapter 2 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending
Section 2.5.18.B.3 to read as follows:
B. Permitted Uses.
3. Commercial and Personal Services.
(W) Pharmacy or Drug Store.
(X) Recreational establishment
(Y) Restaurant, General.
(Z) Retail Sales, General.
(AA) Schools, Vocational and Non-academic.
SECTION 2.
Chapter 3 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending
Table 3.1.1. to read as follows:

SECTION 3.
Chapter 4 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by amending
Table 4.3.3. to read as follows:

Recreational Establishment 1 per 400 GSF of floor area Parking study may be required
SECTION 4.
Section 13.1.1 of the Unified Development Ordinance is hereby amended by adding
the definition of Recreational establishment to read as follows:
Recreational establishment means any recreational use that requires large, open
space facilities (such as a warehouse). These recreational uses include, but
are not limited to, crossfit, rock climbing, physical training,
baseball/softball facilities, gymnastics, tennis centers and similar uses.
SECTION 5.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are
hereby repealed.
