or expanding their duties and responsibilities and provide an update. (Request

Response In late 2008 the Director of Parks and Recreation was tasked by Deputy
City Manager Lisa Goodwin to revamp the Recreation Advisory Board and get this
board functional again. He then placed Assistant Director Cammy Currie in
charge of meeting with the board each month. According to Ms. Currie, she met
with those members of the board that could attend the meeting, never having a
quorum present during 2009 and 2010 when they met. Because we have not had a
functional board during this time period, I am currently in the process of
identifying individuals to serve on the board as well as talking with the
current members to assess some of their concerns and lack of participation in
the past. I look to identify members to fill the vacancies of this board and
play an active role in meeting and engaging the Recreation Advisory Board to
its full potential.
