Old Business

The City Managers Office requested a strategic action plan to the year 2014.

Mr. Milam submitted the following improvements for Bull Creek: new clubhouse,

new cart barn, new maintenance building and a new greens mower for the next

five years. The following was submitted for Oxbow Creek: expand the

clubhouse, expand the cart barn and maintenance building, and add an additional

nine holes. These projects will cost approximately 5 million dollars. The

City will request another 1% sales tax increase (SPLOST) to fund the above

improvements.

New Business

Mr. Milan submitted the FY08 budget for Bull Creek and Oxbow Creek. The net

change for Bull Creek has an increase of 12.59% and an increase of 8.70% for

Oxbow Creek. A ball wash machine at Bull Creek will be purchased for $5,000,

and will be paid for under the old SPLOST.

Superintendent Report by Steve Brown

The mower height on the greens mower has been lowered due to growth. The

greens are also sprayed with fertilizer weekly. Insecticide has been applied

to control Mole Crickets. Fertilizer has increased (tied to natural gas

prices) this year. Last year the cost of fertilizer was $4,960, this year for

the same amount of fertilizer will cost $8,960.

The new greens mower (Jacobsen) will be delivered to Bull Creek tomorrow. The

reel grinder and bedknife were installed at a cost of $5,000. This machine

will pay for itself within the first year.

Steve requests the annual visit from the USGA Greens Representative. Mr. Pat

O?Brien will visit in August at a cost of $1,100 per course. He will send his

report to the authority.

Mr. Hagler and Mr. Milam will speak with the Mayor to discuss the retirement

benefits for the prison guard crew.

Godwin Creek

The First Tee has received $40,000 from grants in the month of March. The

middle schools in the area started their matches. Ten area schools will

participate with approximately 90 students competing. The Optimist Club will

hold its annual tournament on June 9th. The Optimist Club winner will play at

the Regional Optimist Golf Tournament later in the summer.

Nan Hopkins competed Phase II of The First Tee Coaches training. This program

is a three-year program, and it is a requirement that each chapter have at

least one representative in the program. Mike Cooper, SE Regional Manager for

The First Tee visited and is so proud of what our chapter has become and the

great things it is doing.

Director of Golf

Bull Creek and Oxbow Creek revenues for 2007 compared to this time last year is

up. Expenses are lower for Bull Creek compared to last year. Revenue for the

month of March is higher as well. It is the product of warm weather. The

revenue and expenses from the snack bar at Bull Creek has made the big

difference in the year to date figures.

Richard Hagler adjourned the meeting at 4:20 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Nancy Wilkeson, Secretary
