CITY ATTORNEY'S AGENDA

O R D I N A N C E S:





(1) 2nd Reading - Rezoning property located at 6650 Buena Vista Road is

proposed for rezoning from SFR2 (Single Family Residential 2) District to SFR4

(Single Family Residential 4) District. (15-D-07-Moye Road Development, LLC)

(Councilor McDaniel) (The Planning Advisory Commission recommends conditional

approval and the Planning Division recommends denial.) (Delayed from May 29,

2007)



(2) 1st Reading ? Properties located at 6344 and 6366 Buena Vista Road are

proposed for rezoning from NC (Neighborhood Commercial) District to GC

(General Commercial) District. (22-D-07-Cato) (Councilor Henderson) The

proposed use is mini-storage. The Planning Advisory Commission recommends

approval and the Planning Department recommends denial.



(3) 1st Reading ? An ordinance regulating vehicular traffic in Columbus,

Georgia by establishing a ?No Parking 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday?

along the west curb of Eastside Drive; beginning at a point 60 feet east of the

centerline intersection of Warm Springs Road with Eastside Drive; thence

running easterly along the west curb of Eastside Drive a distance of 700 feet;

authorizing the installation of official traffic control signs indicating a ?No

Parking 8 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday? zone; repealing conflicting

ordinances and for other purposes. (Councilor Allen)



(4) 1st Reading ? An ordinance regulating vehicular traffic in Columbus,

Georgia by establishing a ?No Parking Anytime? along the west curb of Forest

Avenue; beginning at a point 30 feet south of the centerline intersection of

17th Street with Forest Avenue; thence running southerly along the west curb of

Forest Avenue a distance of 610 feet; authorizing the installation of official

traffic control signs indicating a ?No Parking Anytime? zone; repealing

conflicting ordinances and for other purposes. (Councilor Barnes)



(5) 1st Reading ? An ordinance regulating vehicular traffic in Columbus,

Georgia by establishing:

A ?No Parking Anytime? zone along the outer curb of Bradley Circle beginning

150 feet north of the centerline intersection point of the eastern intersection

of 29th Street with Bradley Circle, continuing counter clockwise around Bradley

Circle, 1,225 feet;

And establishing a ?No Parking Anytime? zone along the northern curb of 29th

Street beginning 25 feet west of the centerline intersection point of 29th

Street and Bradley Circle, going westward along the north curb of 29th Street

315 feet;

Authorizing the installation of official traffic control signs indicating a ?No

Parking Anytime? zone; repealing conflicting ordinances and for other

purposes. (Councilor McDaniel)



(6) 1st Reading ? An ordinance regulating vehicular traffic in Columbus,

Georgia by establishing a No Parking Anytime zone along the north and south

curbs of Springer Street, running easterly from 15th Avenue to 16th Avenue;

beginning at a point 30 feet east of the centerline intersection of 15th Avenue

with Spring Street and thence running east a distance of 315 feet; restriction

to apply to both sides of Springer Street; authorizing the installation of

official traffic control signs indicating a ?No Parking Anytime? zone;

repealing conflicting ordinances and for other purposes. (Councilor McDaniel)



(7) 2nd Reading ? A text amendment to the Unified Development Ordinance to

create a corridor overlay district along Highway 80 from Warm Springs Road to

the Talbot County line. (25-A-07-Planning Department) (Councilor McDaniel) The

Planning Advisory Commission and the Planning Department recommended approval.



(8) 2nd Reading ? An ordinance amending the budget for the Fiscal

Year 2007 beginning July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2007, for certain funds of

the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia; and appropriating amounts

shown in the SPLOST Project Fund for the Library Project. (Budget Review

Committee)(NOTE?The Library Board met on May 24, 2007 and has now requested an

amendment increasing the Library Project budget for FY07 by $6,078,148 to a

total of $21,789,634. The previous budget amendment requested an amount of

$5,467,099 with an FY07 total of $21,178,585. An additional $611,049 has now

been proposed by the Library Board as new Item # 17?Greenspace at the rear of

the Library.)







R E S O L U T I O N S:





(9) Authorizing the filing of a civil action in the name of







Columbus Water Works and Columbus, Georgia for

injunctive and declaratory relief against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.



(10) Commending and congratulating the Columbus State University Cougars

men?s baseball team upon advancing to the NCAA Division II World Series.

(11) Commending and congratulating the Glenwood Gators baseball team

upon winning the Alabama Independent School Association Class AAA State.
