SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Wellington Trace

located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department





Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that

portion of Wellington Trace located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe.



Background: That portion of Wellington Trace located in Phase Three,

Wellington Pointe has nine (9) residential lots. The street has been improved

and meets the specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of

Wellington Trace located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe. A description of

property is as follows: All those tracts and parcels of land situate, lying

and being in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and being known and designated

on that certain map or plat of said subdivision entitled "Revised Plat, Phase

Three, Wellington Pointe, Lying in land Lot 47, 18th District, Columbus,

Muscogee County, Georgia", dated May 27, 2014, prepared by Moon, Meeks, Mason &

Vinson, Inc., recorded in Plat Book 164, Folios 139, of the records in the

Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of that portion of Wellington

Trace located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe.















A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF WELLINGTON

TRACE LOCATED IN PHASE THREE, WELLINGTON POINTE ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of

Wellington Trace located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe, a full description

of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said street and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated August 26, 2014, conveying to Columbus, Georgia

Wellington Trace located in Phase Three, Wellington Pointe, and the same is

hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed

recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy is hereto attached and by this reference made

a part of this resolution.
