SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - That portion of Double Pine Drive located
in First Addition to Section Eleven - Garrett Pines
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to that
portion of Double Pine Drive located in First Addition to Section Eleven,
Garrett Pines. The Engineering Department has inspected said streets and
recommends the acceptance. No city funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two year warranty.
Background: That portion of Double Pine Drive located in First Addition to
Section Eleven, Garrett Pines has Twenty-one (21) residential lots. The street
has been improved and meets the specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of Double
Pine Drive located in First Addition to Section Eleven, Garrett Pines. A
description is as follows: That certain tract or parcel of land designated as:
Double Pine Drive, as shown upon a map or plat of survey entitled "First
Addition to Section Eleven, Garrett Pines, Part of Land Lot 130 & 159, 9th
District, Columbus, Georgia" as prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc., dated
January 3, 2016, and recorded in Plat Book 164, Folio 339, in the Office of the
Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all
dedicated right of way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to
that portion of Double Pine Drive located in First Addition to Section Eleven,
Garrett Pines. The Engineering Department has inspected said streets and
recommends the acceptance. No city funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two year warranty.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THAT PORTION OF DOUBLE PINE DRIVE
LOCATED IN FIRST ADDITION TO SECTION ELEVEN - GARRETT PINES ON BEHALF OF
COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that
portion of Double Pine Drive located in First Addition to Section Eleven,
Garrett Pines, a full description of property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required
specifications for acceptance of same; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said street and
recommends acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated April 5, 2016, conveying to Columbus, Georgia,
that portion of Double Pine Drive located in First Addition to Section Eleven,
Garrett Pines, and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby
authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the
Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy is hereto attached
and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
