A Resolution honoring the late Mrs. Jaime Briggs Deloach.
Whereas, Mrs. Jaimie Briggs Deloach was born and raised in Columbus,
Georgia; and,
Whereas, Mrs. Jaimie Briggs Deloach received her Juris Doctor Law Degree
from the University of Georgia in May 1991; and,
Whereas, Mrs. Jaimie Briggs Deloach was an attorney and served as a Staff
Attorney with the United States Magistrate Judge, was a Contract Legal
Researcher and Writer, an Associate with Shaw, Pittman, Potts & Trowbridge
Attorneys in Washington, D.C., as well as, a Summer Associate with the law firm
of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue in Atlanta, Georgia; and,
Whereas, Mrs. Jaimie Briggs Deloach also served as the Assistant City
Attorney for the City of Columbus from December 29, 2001 to April 16, 2011;
and,
Whereas, Mrs. Jaimie Briggs Deloach was a member of the Order of the Coif,
member of the University of Georgia Law Review, and John and Mary Law
Scholarship (2nd and 3rd years); and,
NOW THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES:
In honor of Mrs. Jamie Briggs Deloach, the Board of Honor has approved the
request of CORTA to install a bench in memory of Jaimie Briggs Deloach at the
Cooper Creek Tennis Center, in Columbus, Georgia. The Parks & Recreation
Department is hereby authorized to work with CORTA to erect appropriate signage
at the Cooper Creek Tennis Center.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held
on the 12th day of January, 2016 and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative
vote of ______ members of Council.
