SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Pond View Court and that portion of Pond

View Drive located in Section One - Sears Pond



INITIATED BY: Engineering





Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Pond

View Court and that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section One - Sears

Pond.



Background: Pond View Court and that portion of Pond View Drive located

in Section One - Sears Pond has fourteen (14) residential lots. The streets

have been improved and have met the specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Pond View Court and

that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section One - Sears Pond. A

description of property is as follows: All that lot, tract or parcel of land

situate, lying and being in Land Lots 8 & 9 of the 9th District of Columbus,

Muscogee County Georgia, designated as "Pond View Court" and "Pond View Drive,"

as shown upon a map or plat entitled "Section One, Sears Pond, prepared by A.B.

Moon J., Ga. R.L.S. No. 782, of Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc. dated March

28, 2014, and recorded in Plat Book 164, Folio 113, in the Office of the Clerk

of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the acceptance of Pond View Court and that

portion of Pond View Drive located in Section One - Sears Pond.













A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO POND VIEW COURT AND THAT

PORTION OF POND VIEW DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION ONE, SEARS POND ON BEHALF OF

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Pond View Court

and that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section One, Sears Pond, a full

description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated June 20, 2014, conveying to Columbus, Georgia, Pond

View Court and that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section One, Sears

Pond, and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby

authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the

Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy is hereto attached

and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
