SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Eastwind Court and that portion of Windward

Drive located in Section Four, Crosswinds



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department







Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to

Eastwind Court and that portion of Windward Drive located in Section Four,

Crosswinds



Background: Eastwind Court and that portion of Windward Drive located in

Section Four, Crosswinds has ten (10) residential lots. The streets have been

improved and meet the required specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Eastwind Court and

that portion of Windward Drive located in Section Four, Crosswinds. A

description of the property is as follows: All those lots, tracts and parcels

of land lying and being in Land Lots 40 & 41 of the 18th District, Columbus,

Georgia, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown as extension of Windward Drive and

Eastwind Court lying in Section Four of Crosswinds Subdivision, as said roads

and right-of-way is shown on the map or plat entitled "Section Four, Crosswinds

Lying in Land Lots 40 & 41, 18th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia"

prepared by Hobbs, Smith & Assoc., Inc., dated February 6, 2009, said recorded

in Plat Book 161, page 346, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Eastwind

Court and that portion of Windward Drive located in Section Four, Crosswinds

















A RESOLUTION



NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO EASTWIND COURT AND THAT

PORTION OF WINDWARD DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION FOUR, CROSSWINDS ON BEHALF OF

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Eastwind Court

and that portion of Windward Drive located in Section Four, Crosswinds, a full

description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated April 14, 2009, conveying to Columbus, Georgia

Eastwind Court and that portion of Windward Drive located in Section Four,

Crosswinds,be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby

authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the

Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of the deed is

hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution
