SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Oak Crossing Drive, that portion of Sable
Court and that portion of Oaks Drive located in Section Six, Sable Oaks of
Midland
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Oak
Crossing Drive, that portion of Sable Oaks Drive and that portion of Sable
Court located in Section Six, Sable Oaks of Midland.
Background: Oak Crossing Drive, that portion of Sable Oaks Drive and that
portion of Sable Court located in Section Six, Sable Oaks of Midland will have
twenty-nine (29) residential lots. The streets have been improved and have met
the specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Oak Crossing Drive,
that portion of Sable Oaks Drive and that portion of Sable Court located in
Section Six, Sable Oaks of Midland. A description of the property is as
follows: Those certain tracts or parcels of land designated as the extension of
Sable Oaks Drive, Oak Crossing Drive, and the extension of Sable Court, as
shown upon a map or plat entitled "Section Six, Sable Oaks of Midland, Part of
Land Lot 6, & 27, 18th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" as
prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc., dated October 12, 2012, recorded in
Plat Book 163, Folios 263 & 264, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior
Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Oak Crossing Drive, that portion of Sable Oaks Drive
and that portion of Sable Court located in Section Six, Sable Oaks of Midland.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO OAK CROSSING DRIVE, THAT
PORTION OF SABLE OAKS DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF SABLE COURT LOCATED IN SECTION
SIX, SABLE OAKS OF MIDLAND ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Oak Crossing
Drive, that portion of Sable Oaks Drive and that portion of Sable Court located
in Section Six, Sable Oaks of Midland, a full description of property on said
deed; and,
WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said streets and recommends
acceptance of same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated November 30, 2012, conveying to Columbus,
Georgia Oak Crossing Drive, that portion of Sable Oaks Drive and that portion
of Sable Court located in Section Six, Sable Oaks of Midland, be and the same
is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed
recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of
Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this
reference made a part of this resolution.
