A RESOLUTION
No.
WHEREAS, Captain Renee McAneny of the Columbus Police Department was recently
selected as Safe Kids Georgia Volunteer of the Year by Safe Kids Georgia;
WHEREAS, she has volunteered for Safe Kids for over eleven years and has
recruited many fellow officers to become Safe Kids Columbus volunteers;
WHEREAS, she was selected by a 27-member panel from a list of applicants
residing throughout Georgia;
WHEREAS, Safe Kids Georgia is dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood
injury and promotes changes in attitudes, behaviors, laws and the environment
to prevent accidental injury to children;
WHEREAS, Captain McAneny has devoted countless hours to promotion of these
goals and has helped distribute carseats for children, bike helmets, smoke
alarms and other home safety devices;
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Captain Renee McAneny are worthy of special
recognition by this Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby commend and congratulate Captain Renee McAneny of the Columbus Police
Department for her selection as Safe Kids Georgia Volunteer of the Year.
Columbus is proud of her service to our community through Safe Kids Georgia and
we wish her every success in the future. Let a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to Captain Renee McAneny.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
9th day of March, 2010, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
