SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Coppice Drive, Prairie Valley Drive,

Prairie Valley Court and Extension of Garrett Lake Drive located in Lakes Phase

Twelve, Garrett Creek

Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Coppice

Drive, Prairie Valley Drive, Prairie Valley Court and Extension of Garrett Lake

Drive located in Lakes Phase Twelve, Garrett Creek.



Background: Coppice Drive, Prairie Valley Drive, Prairie Valley Court and

Extension of Garrett Lake Drive located in Lakes Phase Twelve, Garrett Creek

has thirty-seven (37) residential lots. The streets have been improved and have

met the specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Coppice Drive,

Prairie Valley Drive, Prairie Valley Court and Extension of Garrett Lake Drive

located in Lakes Phase Twelve, Garrett Creek. A description of the property is

as follows: All those lots, tracts and parcels of land lying and being in Land

Lots 159, 160 & 162, of the 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia,

and shown as Coppice Drive, Prairie Valley Drive, Prairie Valley Court and

Extension of Garrett Lake Drive as said roads and rights-of-way are shown on

the map or plat entitled "Lakes Phase Twelve Garrett Creek Subdivision, Part of

Land Lots 159, 160 & 162, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia"

prepared by Hobbs, Smith & Associates, Inc., dated April 20, 2011, said plat

recorded in Plat Book 163, pages 84-85, in the Office of the Clerk of the

Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty.



Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until

maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.



Legal Considerations: In Accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the resolution accepting a deed to Coppice

Drive, Prairie Valley Drive, Prairie Valley Court and Extension of Garrett Lake

Drive located in Lakes Phase Twelve, Garrett Creek.

















A RESOLUTION

NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO COPPICE DRIVE, PRAIRIE

VALLEY DRIVE, PRAIRIE VALLEY COURT AND EXTENSION OF GARRETT LAKE DRIVE LOCATED

IN LAKES PHASE TWELVE, GARRETT CREEK ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Coppice Drive,

Prairie Valley Drive, Prairie Valley Court and Extension of Garrett Lake Drive

located in Lakes Phase Twelve, Garrett Creek, a full description of property on

said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department inspected said streets and recommends

acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated April 13, 2012, conveying to Columbus, Georgia

Coppice Drive, Prairie Valley Drive, Prairie Valley Court and Extension of

Garrett Lake Drive located in Lakes Phase Twelve, Garrett Creek, be and the

same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said

deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court

of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this

reference made a part of this resolution.
