SUBJECT: Donation of Painting



INITIATED BY: Fire/EMS Department







Recommendation: Approval is requested to accept the painting, ?View of the

Eagle and Phenix Mills,? donated by internationally renowned artist, Bruno

Zupan.



Background: September 2011, the Fire/EMS Department responded to a fire at a

storage unit, which housed many of Mr. Zupan?s older paintings. The efforts of

the Fire/EMS Department kept the paintings from being destroyed. In

appreciation Mr. Zupan has donated his landscape, ?View of the Eagle and Phenix

Mills.? The painting is valued at approximately $24,000.00,



Analysis: The painting will be displayed in the Public Safety Building.



Financial Considerations: This will be at no cost to the City as it is a

private donation.



Legal Considerations: Council must approve the acceptance of this donation.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the donation of the painting, ?View of the

Eagle and Phenix Mills,? to be displayed in Public Safety Building.











A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF THE PAINTING, ?VIEW OF THE EAGLE

AND PHENIX MILLS,? DONATED BY INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED ARTIST, BRUNO ZUPAN, TO

BE DISPLAYED IN THE PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING; AND EXPRESSING THANKS AND

APPRECIATION TO BRUNO ZAPAN.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS

FOLLOWS:



That the Mayor is hereby authorized to accept the painting, ?View of

the Eagle and Phenix Mills,? donated by Bruno Zupan, to be displayed in Public

Safety Building.
