MINUTES # 17-11
The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Monday, May 9, 2011 at 9:00AM
with Assessor Ann Grantham, Assessor Pat Hunter, Assessor Derrick Shields and
Assessor Scott Boyce present. Chairman Lawton Grantham was absent. Also present
was Chief Appraiser Betty J. Middleton
Assessor Pat Hunter made the motion to approve Min#16-11. Assessor Derrick
Shields seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Assessor Derrick Shields made a motion to excuse Chairman Lawton Grantham;
Assessor Pat Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Board of Tax Assessors signed assessment corrections for real estate.
Met with Residential Division Manager Bob O?Brien, reviewed and approved the
following:
Homesteaded Permits: 437
Met with Commercial Division Manager Linda King, reviewed and approved the
following:
Multiyear Map Split: 1
Revaluation: 5
Permits: 52
Com Div Mgr Linda King gave the Board an update on status of bringing
commercial properties current.
Met with Personal Property Division Manager Oliver Juhan, reviewed and approved
the following:
Assessment Corrections: 5(-)
Pers Prop Mgr Oliver Juhan apprised the Board of status getting the personal
property values to the Board for approval and mailing of annual tax notices.
Also discussed briefly a decision of the Board of Equalization concerning
account# L1262901 for 2010.

The Board reviewed the historic application for PID 003 016 013. Assessor
Derrick Shields made a motion to approve the historic application for PID 003
016 013 beginning 2011; Assessor Pat Hunter seconded the motion. Motion
carried. The Board also reviewed the historic application of PID 004 009 012.
Assessor Scott Boyce made a motion to approve the historic application for PID
004 009 012 beginning 2011; Assessor Derrick Shields seconded the motion;
motion carried.
