Commissioners Present: Scott Ressmeyer, Chair, Bill Webster, Secretary, Susan

Lawhorne, Past Chair, Lee Brantley, and Brian Plemmons.



Commissioners Absent: H.S. Guron, Vice Chair, Veola Hymes, Colin Martin, and

Bruce Smith.



Ex-Officio Members Present: Larry Campbell, Isaiah Hugley, and Mayor

Wetherington.



Ex-Officio Members Absent: Richard Bishop, Cyndy Cerbin, Janice Davis, Mike

Gaymon, Dale Hester, Enoch Morris, Burnie Quick, and Judy Thomas.



Special Guest: John Drew, with Basset and Becker Advertising.



Staff Present: Peter Bowden, Shelby Guest, Kimberly Parker, and Linda Olvera.



Call to Order-Scott Ressmeyer called the meeting to order @ 8:10 a.m.



Approval of Minutes-Brian Plemmons made a motion to accept the minutes of the

April Board meeting. Lee Brantley seconded the motion. A vote was taken and

the motion passed.



Treasurer?s Report-Linda Olvera presented the April financial statement for

approval due to the absence of Bruce Smith. Lee Brantley made a motion to

accept the report as read. Susan Lawhorne seconded the motion. A vote was

taken and the motion passed. A check to Basset & Becker Advertising in the

amount of $45,000.00 was presented to the Board for approval of payment. Susan

Lawhorne made a motion to approve the payment and Lee Brantley seconded the

motion. A vote was taken and the motion passed.

Smith Travel Report



Chairman?s Report-Scott Ressmeyer

Sports Council Funding-The Sports Council has requested additional funding from

the CCVB in the amount of $125,000.00. The Board discussed making a

non-interest loan of the request to be repaid if the State Legislature passes

the Hotel Destination Fee and after a-to-be-determined amount is accrued.

Carmen Cavezza has been acting as a facilitator between the CCVB and the Sports

Council at the request of the City Manager. The Board discussed the topic of

combining the CCVB and the Sports Council and the possible efficiencies the

merger would create.



President-CEO Report-Peter Bowden

Special Presentation- John Drew, with Basset and Becker Advertising, gave a

video presentation of the WTVM-CCVB website project.
