Mr. Larry Gierer,

Ledger-Enquirer

Columbus, GA

Dear Mr. Gierer,

It was a pleasure meeting you Sunday at the Concerned Citizens of South

Columbus program and was glad the press was there. I think it is important to

enjoy a friendly and beneficial relationship with the press. As you can tell, I

love to promote Westville and am excited about Westville coming to Columbus.

Unfortunately I was a little disappointed about the article on Monday morning.

I feel misunderstandings or misstatements may have occurred on these items:

1. The headline seemed misleading and did not fairly represent the program I

presented to the Concerned Citizens. What I felt was a well-received program

with thoughtful questions seemed tilted in a negative way for the readers of

the paper.

2. My goal and Westville?s goal is still to be in Columbus in 2015. We all know

that in construction projects, there may be some unavoidable delays. Perhaps

instead of leading with ?Westville won?t come until 2017,? perhaps a more

positive ?Westville coming to Columbus in 2015?could have served us all better.

I can assure you that we are doing everything in our power to make this move

happen in 2015.

3. Finally, I mentioned that all the staff ?will? have jobs at the new site in

Columbus. Publishing that the current Westville staff ?may? have jobs, places

doubt in their minds about their future employment with Westville. Some may

choose not to relocate and commute from Lumpkin to Columbus, but everyone has

been promised jobs at the new site.

Again, it was a pleasure to meet you and if there is anything I can do to avoid

any future misunderstandings or perhaps misstatements, please let me know. I am

willing to clarify items anytime in order to prevent this in the future.

Thanks again,

Leo J. Goodsell
