A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT OF MR. GREGORY J. COATES AS DIRECTOR
OF BUILDING INSPECTIONS AND CODE ENFORCEMENT DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the recruitment process for the building inspections and code
enforcement director position involved nationwide advertisement; and,
WHEREAS, a selection process was used that included a selection team of Deputy
City Managers David Arrington and Lisa Goodwin, Finance Director Pam Hodge and
HR Director Tom Barron, a second round of interviews with City Manager Isaiah
Hugley and the Honorable Mayor Teresa Pike Tomlinson, in accordance with the
Columbus, Georgia Charter ? 4-102(3), the City Manager is bringing forward for
confirmation of Council internal candidate Gregory J. Coates as director of the
Building Inspections and Code Enforcement Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to appoint Mr. Gregory J. Coates as
Director of Building Inspections and Code Enforcement Department, at Pay Grade
25.
