NOTICE of NEEDS ASSESSMENT WORKSHOPS

The Columbus Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia will conduct two (2)
Needs Assessments Workshops to obtain citizens? input for the City?s 2012-2016
Consolidate Plan and the FFY 2012 Annual Action Plan. The Needs Assessment
Workshops will examine and discuss the nature and types of assistance needed to
address the City?s future priority needs as those needs may have evolved or
changed since the development of the 2006-2011 Consolidated Plan.
The City of Columbus is an Entitlement Community eligible to receive assistance
under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (U.S. HUD) Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership (HOME)
Programs. As mandated by Federal Regulation, 24 CFR Part 91, the City is
required to document its plan to pursue these goals for all community planning
and development programs, as well as for housing programs in its Consolidated
Plan.
The Consolidated Plan is a five year, long-range strategic plan submitted to
U.S. HUD to identify, prioritize and address the City of Columbus? housing and
community development needs and to develop a map of the planned use of
available housing and community development funds from all sources. The
Consolidated Plan also serves as the planning document for the City of Columbus
Consolidated Government and as an application for funding under the referenced
programs which is prepared in accordance with the requirements of 24 CFR Part
91.
Citizens are invited to attend and participate in these discussions. Listed
below are the locations and dates of the two meeting:

Tuesday, February 15, 2011, 6:00p.m. ? 8:00p.m.; 3000 Macon Road, Columbus
