An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government
of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changes certain boundaries of a district
located at 460 6th Avenue from LMI (Light Manufacturing Industrial) Zoning
District to GC (General Commercial) Zoning District.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Department be, and the
same is hereby amended by changing the aforementioned property of the following
described property from LMI (Light Manufacturing Industrial) Zoning District to
GC (General Commercial) Zoning District:
BEGINNING at a concrete monument which marks the intersection of the easterly
Right-of-Way Line of 6th Avenue (One Hundred Thirty-Two (132') foot
Right-of-Way) with the southerly Right-of-Way Line of 5th Street (Ninety-Nine
(99') foot Right-of-Way); thence traveling along the southerly Right -of -Way
Line of said 5th Street south 89 degrees 29 minutes 29 seconds east a distance
of 691.84 feet to a concrete monument on said Right-of-Way Line at its
intersection with the westerly Right-of-Way Line of Bt " Avenue (Ninety-Nine
(99') foot Right-of-Way - Not Open); thence traveling along the westerly
Right-of-Way Line of said 8th Avenue south 00 degrees 33 minutes 04 seconds
west a distance of 350.31 feet to a pinched iron pipe on said Right-of-Way Line
and on the northerly line of the Porterdale Cemetery (City of Columbus); thence
leaving the westerly Right-of-Way Line of said 8th Avenue and traveling north
88 degrees 30 minutes 28 seconds west along the northerly line of said
Porterdale Cemetery and other property of the City of Columbus a distance of
572.90 feet to an iron pipe at the southeast corner of Pool Property (City of
Columbus); thence traveling north 00 degrees 41 minutes 59 seconds east along
said Pool Property a distance of 59.95 feet to an iron pipe; thence traveling
north 88 degrees 30 minutes 48 seconds west a distance of 119.91 feet to an
iron pipe on the easterly Right-of-Way Line of said 6th Avenue; thence
traveling along the easterly Right-of-Way Line 'of said 6th Avenue north 00
degrees 42 minutes 00 seconds east a distance of 278.48 feet to a concrete
monument, which concrete monument is the TRUE POINT OF BEGINNING.
The above-described property is being rezoned subject to the following
conditions:
1. Billboards shall not be allowed on this property.
2. Buffers shall be required along the cemetery, subject to
the approval of the City Arborist and Inspections and Code
Department.

11th day of September, 2012; introduced a second time at a regular meeting of
said Council held on the day of __________, 2012 and
adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of members of said
Council.
