plumbing. We denied issuance of same unless Council grants him more time to

This property is an abandoned gas station. The owner was in litigation with

the former tenant. Owner agreed to keep building secured and maintain the

grounds. Owner advised that he planned to sell to be used as a gas station

again, but has not. Building continues to deteriorate and is harder to keep

secured.

structure to be rotten and neglected, made photographs of the property, and

wrote up "Inspector's Condemnation Report".

9-28-04 Inspections revealed that no progress has been made.



Owner is deceased and died intestate. Attorney for estate has had several

different buyers for this property, but during these two years could never get

to closing. He completed the probation of estate and has no buyer, and has

recently advised us to continue with demolition process.



5-11-07 Requested asbestos survey and cost to complete demolition from Reaves

Wrecking Company.



5-14-07 Letter mailed to owner that we were requesting asbestos survey and cost

to complete demolition, after which we would send to Council for approval.



5-16-07 Jennifer Miller, Reaves Wrecking Company, Inc., priced the cost of

asbestos removal and completing the demolition at $4,766.00.



6-1-07 Re-inspections and new photographs revealed that no progress has been

made.



6-8-07 Letter mailed to owner advising cost of demolition and Council dates.
