August 26, 2008

The Greater Columbus Golf Authority held the scheduled monthly meeting at Bull

Creek Golf Course. Members present were Nancy Wilkeson, Richard Hagler, Rev.

Hill, Floyd Washington, Aubry Burt, Rudy Allen, Rhudine Nelson and Carl

Williams. Michael Silverstein had an excused absence. Staff members present

were John Milam and Steve Brown. Richard Hagler welcomed Rhudine Nelson and

Carl Williams to the Authority Board.

Minutes of the June 24, 2008 meeting were approved as presented. Motion made

by Aubry Burt and seconded by Rev. Hill. The July?s meeting was cancelled

since there was no quorum. Minutes of the February 26, 2008 meeting and April

New Business

The City employees at Bull Creek and Oxbow Creek will receive their raises to

keep in-line with all other city employees. The added expense will be

approximately $20,000. Richard Hagler asked for a motion to approve the

raises. Rudy Allen made the motion and was seconded Aubry Burt. Motion

passed.

Bull Creek was awarded a 4-star rating from Golf Digest. A 3 ? star rating is

the standard. Congratulations were given to John Milam and Steve Brown for

their hard work.

Robert Trent Jones and the Marriott have been sued because they do not provide

accessible golf carts for the disabled. One solo-cart costs approximately

$8.500. When the time comes, Bull Creek will have to purchase carts to comply

with the Americans With Disabilities Act.

Superintendent Report by Steve Brown

Pat O?Brien, USGA?s Southeast Director of Green Section, visited Bull Creek and

Oxbow Creek. A written report will be forthcoming. Bull Creek has received 7+

inches of rain in the last four days. The new Golf Tech building (CSU) is not

complete at this time. Additional concrete pouring has been suspended because

the fairway is too wet to allow trucks to cross. Steve Brown will bill CSU for

the excess damage caused by the cement trucks.

In the middle of September, sod will be laid in front of three-west green.

Steve has received three new greens mowers for Bull Creek.

Godwin Creek

No report was submitted.

Director of Golf

Bull Creek and Oxbow Creek revenues have increased from July compared to the

same time last year. The revenues through August 17th are slightly higher as

well. Bull Creek?s revenues are also higher for the month of August compared to

the same time period as last year. For the fiscal year ending June ?08, Oxbow

Creek?s losses are slightly higher than FY07. On the other hand, Bull Creek

profits are higher; with cost allocations of $40,000 and $23,000 in debt

services, which actually equates to $65,000 profit. The snack bar at Bull

Creek made of $30,000 profit.

The latest master plan of the Oxbow area does not include an additional 9

holes. Several members were under the impression that Sanford Bishop allocated

money for this project. Mr. Hagler and Mr. Washington will be calling Mr.

Bishop office to discuss this change.

Aubry Burt made a motion to retain Richard Hagler as Chairman; Rhudine Nelson

as Co-Chairman will replace Rev. Hill and Nancy Wilkeson will replace Nan

Hopkins as Secretary. Floyd Washington seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Richard Hagler adjourned the meeting at 4:23 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Nancy Wilkeson, Secretary
