SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - That portion of Charleston Way,
that portion of Oriana Drive
and that portion of Sullivan's Drive located in replat of Section One,
Charleston Place
INITIATED BY: Engineering Department
Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of that portion
of Charleston Way, that portion of Oriana Drive and that portion of Sullivan's
Drive located in replat of Section One, Charleston Place.
Background: That portion of Charleston Way, that portion of Oriana Drive
and that portion of Sullivan's Drive located in replat of Section One,
Charleston Place has (45) Forty-Five residential lots. The streets have been
improved and meet the required specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion
of Charleston Way, that portion of Oriana Drive and that portion of Sullivan's
Drive located in replat of Section One, Charleston Place. A description of
property is as follows: That certain tracts of parcels of land designated as
That portion of Charleston Way, that portion of Oriana Drive and that portion
of Sullivan's Drive located in replat of Section One, Charleston Place, shown
upon a map or plat of survey entitled "Replat of Section One, Charleston Place,
Part of Land Lot 266, 19th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" as
prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc., dated October 1, 2018 and recorded in
Plat Book 165, Folio 311, in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of
Muscogee County, Georgia.
Financial Considerations: No City Funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City Funds are involved until
maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.
Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.
Recommendations/Actions: Approval is requested for the acceptance of that
portion of Charleston Way, that portion of Oriana Drive and that portion of
Sullivan's Drive located in replat of Section One, Charleston Place.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF CHARLESTON
WAY, THAT PORTION OF ORIANA DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF SULLIVAN'S DRIVE LOCATED
IN REPLAT OF SECTION ONE, CHARLESTON PLACE ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.
WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of
Charleston Way, that portion of Oriana Drive and that portion of Sullivan's
Drive located in replat of Section One, Charleston Place, a full description of
property on said deed; and,
WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications
for acceptance by the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends
acceptance by same.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That certain deed dated October 12, 2018 conveying to Columbus, Georgia that
portion of Charleston Way, that portion of Oriana Drive and that portion of
Sullivan's Drive located in replat of Section One, Charleston Place and the
same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said
deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court
of Muscogee County. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this reference
made a part of this resolution.
