Comprehensive Review of Parking

As you all are aware, we have struggled with many parking issues in the Uptown
area in recent years. Our challenges include too much available parking in
decks, too much demand, and not enough supply for on-street parking. Business
owners, patrons and historic district residents have all voiced their
concerns. In the next several weeks, city staff will develop a proposal to
remedy these issues for your review and feedback. Staff will be sure to
involve stakeholders impacted by parking in the Uptown area. In the meantime,
below is an update of the issues for your review.
The current Parking Management Districts from 3rd Ave. to Bay Ave. and 9th
Street to 14th Street.
Historic District
Parking Garages ? Incentives for use
Parking solutions to on street parking concerns (timed parking areas 8-4-2
hours)
A timeline will be established
Meetings will be held with Uptown Merchants, Uptown Columbus, Inc., Residents
and others
Changing dynamics such as:
CSU Campus
Upcoming Whitewater
Increase in residential use
Bars
Restaurants
Retail
The Internal Committee will consist of:
