James,

I would like for you to get on my agenda for the 2nd Tuesday and do a very

short briefing to council on this change. We are not asking for permission but

letting them know about the administrative change. Thanks.

Subject: Comer Center Update

Good Afternoon Marquette and Rick,

This year is off to a great start and we have many wonderful ideas. One idea is

to increase the activity at our gorgeous Comer Center. To that end, we are

planning to relocate the Fox Senior Center programs to the Comer Center. The

Recreation Division Manager and I met with the seniors on Thursday, January 29,

2015 to discuss and gather feedback from the seniors. The majority of the

seniors were thrilled with the idea of having a newly renovated facility that

has the amenities and parking that is needed for their programs. In addition,

the seniors toured the Comer Center with the Director and Division Manager and

the seniors were well pleased with Comer and this opportunity. The Fox Center

will be used as a rental facility to allow citizens an additional venue to host

events (i.e. birthday parties, meetings, seminars, family events, etc.). This

is also a creative way to increase revenue for the Parks and Recreation

Department.

I would also like your feedback about this idea as you are wonderful

representatives of the Bibb community. I look forward to receiving your

thoughts.

Best regards,

James
