A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO ESTABLISH A PLACE OF WORSHIP IN
EXCESS OF 250 SEATS AT 6650 BUENA VISTA ROAD.
WHEREAS, Gateway Church, Inc / Larry Mitchell, has appropriately applied for a
Special Exception Use to establish a place of worship in excess of 250 seats on
the subject property;
WHEREAS, a place of worship in excess of 250 seats is permitted solely as a
Special Exception Use under the current SFR2 (Single-family Residential 2)
zoning district;
WHEREAS, the Planning Department has reviewed the request and recommends
conditional approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That all the criteria of Section 10.2.7.B have been met and that a Special
Exception Use for a place of worship in excess of 250 seats be granted for the
property at 6650 Buena Vista Road.
A special exception use is granted for the subject property with the following
conditions:
Smoke and noise disclosure statements shall be included in any real estate
documents related to the subject property. Said disclosure statements shall be
included as part of this resolution.
The Tree Density Unit (TDU) requirement shall be met for the proposed project
in the area shown under the enclosed site plan. Existing trees elsewhere on the
site shall be excluded in the calculation of TDUs.

13th day of March, 2012, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
members of said Council.
