RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Councilor Thomas B. Buck, III has ably and diligently filled the seat
of Councilor C. E. Red McDaniel during the past year;
WHEREAS, Councilor Buck is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and has served
on the Boards of Columbus State University, St. Francis Hospital, RiverCenter
for the Performing Arts, the Springer Opera House and the Columbus Port Naval
Museum;
WHEREAS, he served in the House of Representatives for the Georgia General
Assembly for 38 years and represented the citizens of Columbus, Georgia in an
exemplary fashion;
WHEREAS, he has received honors and awards from various groups, including the
Admiral?s Circle Award, the Chattahoochee Boy Scouts of America, the Boys and
Girls Clubs of Columbus and Phenix City, and was named as one of 100 People To
Remember for the 20th Century by the Ledger-Enquirer on November 22, 1999;
WHEREAS, the service of Councilor Tom Buck to the Columbus Council and
Columbus, Georgia is worthy of special recognition.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby express our deep appreciation to Councilor Thomas B. Buck,
III for his dedicated and distinguished service to the Council of Columbus,
Georgia. We wish him every success in the future as he resumes his private
life, but his extraordinary service to the citizens of Columbus, Georgia will
always be remembered. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Councilor
Thomas B. Buck, III.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the
24th day of May, 2016, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
